  • Flexibility of resources - a broad span of audit needs is met rapidly and effectively through access to a talent pool of professionally qualified and experienced staff at all levels and with support from the KCG Consortium's external collaborative partner, RSM Tenon.  The KCG Consortium has created a specialist framework and centre of excellent for the delivery of Internal Audit services across the Member institutions.
  • Specialism and experience in HE - allows quality service provision from a thorough understanding of HE culture and organisational complexities, key processes, systems and governance within the sector.
  • Experience and expertise in delivering “value added” - through the provision of specialist staff resources experienced in HE. Together with the KCG Consortium's external collaborative partner, the KCG Consortium has access to staff that are trained and experienced in business planning, strategic management processes, management consultancy, Human Resources, value for money, performance management and measurement, information risk management and taxation, amongst a wide range of other specialist areas.
  • Stability of working arrangements - through effective succession planning and staff development programmes, thereby attracting and retaining high quality staff and allowing continuity of service provision. Each Member institution maintains a dedicated audit team so that stability of service arrangements can be maintained.
  • Professional standards - the KCG Consortium maintains a challenging and focused approach to raising standards and delivering quality of service, in accordance with Government Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) standards.  This is also achieved through ensuring standardisation and consistency of internal audit services and processes across the Member institutions.
  • Member involvement - the Member institutions maintain a strong influence in how the KCG Consortium is governed and managed, and how services are delivered, through representation on the KCG Board.
